FOTD: Festive make up look 2- Winged liner+wine red lips (easy make up for beginners)

Hi my friends,

I am here again with another breakdown of a festive make up look I created in the recent past. This one is a much easier look which is perfect for beginners with minimal products used. I have used a very dark wine red lip color to add some glamour to this otherwise simple look but you can always go ahead and change the lip colour according to your preferences. If you are using a dark lip colour, it is important to keep the rest of your face clean and natural looking with well defined eyes.

  1. MAC select cover concealer NC44
  2. Lakme CC cream
  3. Revlon nearly naked compact- Medium
  4. Lakme absolute baked blush- Day Blushes

Start with a well moisturised skin. Conceal the under eye area and other areas of your face where you have spots or blemishes. Using the right shade of concealer instantly makes a huge difference. So, do not skip on concealers. You do not always have to use the high end ones as you can find a lot of options to choose from the drugstore brands as well. Next apply a thin layer of any BB or CC cream or any medium coverage foundation to keep your base as natural looking as possible. Then set everything with a powder. As I wanted to keep the look simple, I completely skipped any contouring and highlighting and only added some soft coral pink blush to the apples of my cheeks for that natural flush.

  1. Maybelline The Nudes palette

  2. Maybelline gel eyeliner
  3. L’oreal volume million lashes mascara
  4. Maybelline Fashion brow

I kept the eye make up as simple as possible with minimal eye shadow application. For the lids apply a light wash of any gold colour and only define the crease and outer corner with medium brown eye shadow. Highlight the brow bones with any highlighting colour. The main emphasis should be on the eyeliner. With a dark black gel eyeliner draw a medium thick line along the upper lash line and wing it out. To get that perfect wing draw the wing in the natural direction of your lower waterline. Then join it to the rest of the eye liner. Define the lower lash line with a brown or black kohl and smudge it out slightly. Curl your lashes and apply 2 coats of volumising mascara. Do not forget to groom and fill your eyebrows as it frames the face.

  1. Lakme 9 to 5 lip liner– Red alert
  2. Maybelline color show lipstick– Wine Festival

Apply some lip balm at the beginning of your make up. Now its time to remove the balm with a tissue and fill in the entire lip with a lip liner you choose. Then apply lipstick. If you are using a darker colour then it is important to define the edges nicely with a lip brush. I used a wine red colour here but you can use any colour of your choice. This colour was looking was a bit dark on my lips so I used a red lip liner to brighten the colour slightly but if you are comfortable then you can opt for a neutral lip liner.

What do you think about this look? What are your favourite lip colours for the festive seasons? Do let me know in the comments!
